LEGOLAND Discovery Center | Kids Activities DFW - Entertainment in Grapevine, TX

LEGOLAND Discovery Center is an indoor LEGO playground built into Grapevine Mills, packing more than two million LEGO bricks, a dozen-plus attractions, and a couple of small rides into an air-conditioned 35,000 square feet. It’s aimed squarely at younger builders, which makes it one of the most reliable rainy-day and beat-the-heat stops in the metroplex for families with elementary-age and younger kids.

Things to Do

There’s a good mix of ride-and-play here, not just static displays:

  • Kingdom Quest — hop aboard a chariot and blast targets with a laser as you roll through a castle, one of two indoor rides.
  • Merlin’s Apprentice Ride — pedal fast enough and your cart lifts off the ground, so kids power their own flight.
  • LEGO Build & Test — design a LEGO car and race it down ramps against other builders, then rebuild and try again.
  • MINILAND — a jaw-dropping Dallas/Fort Worth cityscape built from more than 1.5 million bricks, with local landmarks kids love to spot.
  • 4D Cinema — short LEGO movies with wind, water-spray, and other in-theater effects.
  • Pirate Beach — a seasonal outdoor water-play area for cooling off in warmer months.
  • Plus a soft-play area for the youngest kids, a DUPLO zone for toddlers, and drop-in Master Builder workshops.

Best for Which Ages

This one skews young. Toddlers and preschoolers have the DUPLO area, the soft play, and the gentle rides. Elementary-age kids (roughly 3–10) are the target audience and get the most out of the whole center. Tweens and teens can burn through it quickly and may find it small, so it’s best paired with something else if you have older kids. One important policy to know: like most LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, adults must be accompanied by a child to enter (it isn’t set up for unaccompanied grown-ups).

Tickets, Parking, and Timing

  • Tickets: as of 2026, an online saver ticket runs about $19.95 (versus roughly $25.95 at the walk-up window), and a combo ticket bundling the neighboring SEA LIFE Aquarium runs around $32.95. Kids under 2 are free. Booking online in advance is both cheaper and lets you pick a time slot. Confirm current pricing before you go.
  • Parking at Grapevine Mills is free, which is a nice bonus.
  • Hours are generally Monday–Friday 10–6, Saturday 10–8, and Sunday 10–6:30.
  • Plan on about three to four hours, or make a half-to-full day of it by adding SEA LIFE and the surrounding mall.

Tips for Visiting

Go on a weekday morning if you can, since weekends and school holidays fill up fast in this compact space. Buy the SEA LIFE combo if you think you’ll do both, since it’s cheaper than separate tickets. And because it’s inside a large outlet mall, it’s easy to combine with lunch, a movie, or shopping when little legs get tired.

Make It a Grapevine Day

Grapevine is loaded with family stops. Pair LEGOLAND with a ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad or the resort fun at the Gaylord Texan, or head up to Frisco for KidZania.
